Inheriting to the second generation, they have been focusing on selling only two kinds of food for many years: northern zongzi with fish ball soup. Unlike the southern zongzi which is wrapped with bamboo leaves and rice, the northern zongzi is "youfan zongzi" (oil rice zongzi). The round glutinous rice is soaked, steamed, then stir-fried with oil scallions, shrimp, and seasonings to make oil rice, which is then filled with pork belly, mushrooms, peanuts, and salted egg yolk, wrapped in bamboo leaves and steamed. The cooking temperature is precisely controlled, fully presenting the characteristics of northern zongzi: the rice grains are chewy, the fragrance is strong, the texture is excellent, and it absorbs the fresh aroma of the bamboo leaves, making the flavor even more clear and refreshing.
