The Xiying Rainbow Bridge is located within the Guanyin Pavilion Seaside Park in Maokong City, Penghu County. The county government invested ten million to build a seawall outside the Guanyin Pavilion, completed in 2004, making it Penghu's first steel arch bridge. The bridge is 200 m long, with a clear width of 4.6 m, and the lowest point is about 15 m above sea level. It is illuminated by rainbow lights—red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet—whose nighttime colors correspond to the spectral lines of a rainbow. Because the Guanyin Pavilion is famous for its beautiful western scenery, the arch bridge was named accordingly. The bridge and its surrounding scenery combine to create a romantic and pleasant view. At night, the colorful neon lights on the arch bridge become even more dazzling. The Xiying Rainbow Bridge is a popular spot for locals and tourists to exercise, stroll, and enjoy the scenery. It has also become a launch point for Penghu's summer fireworks festivals. In addition to the rainbow lights, the fireworks add to the night sky, enhancing Penghu's beauty and becoming a recent landmark for the region's tourism image.
