Yangming Park

2017-07-05
Yangming Park is located in the north of Taipei City, about 17 kilometers from the city center. During the Japanese colonial period, the area was covered with tall grass, thus it was called "Cao Shan" (Grass Mountain). After the restoration of Taiwan, in order to commemorate Mr. Wang Yangming, in 1950, "Cao Shan" was renamed "Yangming Shan" (Yangming Mountain), and the Yangming Mountain Administration was established to develop Yangming Park.
The park covers an area of about 107 hectares. After the Yangming Mountain Administration was reorganized in 1977, it handed over the park operations to the Park Road Lighting and Engineering Management Office.
This park, located in the Daitoushan mountain range area, has an altitude of 445 meters. It is backed by Qixingshan, flanked by Shamaoshan on the left, and close to Datoushan on the right, with the distant Guanyinshan mountain range stretching in layers. The climate is warm and humid, and it is cool in summer, making it an excellent summer resort. It is also the only place in Taiwan with a dormant volcano terrain, sulfur vents, and natural hot spring scenery.
The park is filled with various flowers such as plum, cherry, peach, plum, rhododendron, and camellia. Every spring, when the cherry blossoms bloom, many people come to the mountain to admire the flowers. In addition, there is a flower clock composed of various seasonal flowers. If you come here, don't forget to take a photo with Yangming Mountain's most representative flower clock.
Visiting Yangming Park, you can enjoy flower viewing in spring, cool off in summer, admire the pampas grass and maple leaves in autumn, and take hot spring baths in winter. The different beautiful scenery and fun of Yangming Mountain in four seasons are waiting for you to explore!
