Palace-style brick-wooden architecture—the Yuanqing Temple, officially designated as a national heritage site, is commonly known as the Sky God Platform due to the historical reference of the Jade Lord as the Yue Di. This is the only temple in Taiwan named with the character "Guan" (觀) and dedicated to the worship of the Jade Emperor. It was established in the 28th year of the Qianlong era during the Qing Dynasty (1763), funded by groups who migrated from Fuzhou Prefecture, Fujian Province. Therefore, the main gate is adorned with an enormous plaque inscribed "[Wenling Fudi.]". Major renovations were undertaken during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, and the existing Yuanqing Temple represents the architectural standards of that era.
