桃園市八德區魚池下14號(起點)
This is not a journey of self-challenge, but rather a 13.5-kilometer cycling adventure that allows you to effortlessly cross over between Daxi, Pingzhen, Zhongli, and Badu, experiencing an amazing blend of vintage cultural charm and modern natural wellness. The path is gentle and easy to navigate, making it highly suitable for either family outings or personal biking diaries. Ready to embark on this leisurely cycling journey? Let’s bike! Starting from Xiaoli Elementary School, the route extends north and south, forming two major themes—"Religion and Humanities" and "Reservoir Wellness." The northern route spans 7.7 kilometers, departing from Changxing Road and heading toward Xiaoli Elementary School along the indicators. The tranquil Dawangfang settlement preserves traditional laundry pools, which are essentially the local community’s "social hub." Washing clothes, chatting about family matters, and playing in the water under century-old trees, cyclists passing by can feel the unique ease and charm of rural life. Continuing toward Yuansheng Temple, rows of agricultural greenhouse nets and agritourism farms become visible. The northern route ends at Qieting Reservoir Park, where three connected water bodies create a picturesque shoreline. The winding lakeside paths, decorated with swaying ginkgo trees, often host sight of local residents fishing, jogging, or cycling. This relaxed, green scenery extends smoothly to the canopy-covered Dongfeng Street Path—pedaling at a leisurely pace brings a calming break from daily stress. In contrast to the northern route’s natural scenery, the southern route highlights deeper local culture through centuries-old temples and Hakka mansions. Near Fushan Temple lies the "No. 1 Laundry Pool," where clear spring water has flowed for decades, and locals continue to practice traditional eco-friendly laundry methods in harmony with nature. Starting from the Xiaoli Community Activity Center, the historic houses—Qingcao Mansion, Lujiang Hall, Tangchao Homestead, and Yuzhu Homestead—stand as red-brick grand estates narrating the region’s stories of beauty and sorrow spanned over a hundred years. Notably, the area surrounding Wu Family Ancestral Hall has been designated as the "Stone Mother Empress Cultural Scenic Area." Following hand-drawn guide maps leads to the trails of Wu Family’s early land development and the origins of the Stone Mother Empress belief. The southern route, 5.8 kilometers long, also features another highlight: Xiali Reservoir, the first reservoir in Taoyuan to gain popularity recently. Dense rows of cypress trees stand tall like those seen overseas, while the nearby farmland, poppies, and milkseed trees create unique seasonal views all year round.
