Chengqian Village in Beihuan Township, Pescadores, faces the inner sea and features a serene Chengqian Beach. The terrain of Chengqian Beach is relatively low, crescent-shaped, and sheltered from northeast winter typhoons, making it one of the few unaffected shores in Penghu during winter. It is minimally impacted by human activities, preserving its natural coastline and rich intertidal ecosystems. From here, you can see Makung City, Zhongtun Wind Turbine, Sizi, and Dashu Island.
Comprising smooth sandy shell grains underfoot, Chengqian Beach has a gradual slope and an intertidal terrain. During low tide, a vast intertidal zone is revealed, ideal for exploring this region. Nearby lies the modest Chengqian Fishing Port, where small fishing boats and oyster farming rafts are moored. The sight of a wide expanse of oyster rafts is visible from here, and during low tide, fishermen fully equipped can be seen heading to tend their rafts. The nearby Chengqian and Jiangmei oysters are renowned for their taste and quality.
Tucked away in a quiet corner of Chengqian Beach is a hook-shaped sandspit surrounded by expansive intertidal zones. With significant differences in tide levels, Chengqian Beach offers a secluded beauty at the sea's edge. Stroll along the sandy shore and explore the intertidal zone.
