Tanmeng Port is the most important external gateway of Wang An. It serves as the docking and transshipment station for ships traveling to and from islands such as Qi Mei, Hujing, Tongpan, and Jiangjun Island in the South China Sea, as well as between Ma Gong and Wang An. It is also the main fishing port of Wang An; other fishing ports in the area, like Zhongshe Fish Port and Shui'an Fish Port, have gradually become abandoned or fallen into decline. The Dong'an Village settlement southeast of the port is the most densely populated village on Wang An Island. The Tanmen Port area is the most bustling and commercially active place on Wang An, with snacks, ice shops, car rental services, convenience stores, and other service providers. The pavilion area of the pier is where tourists and locals most often shelter from the sun and wait for the ships to depart. Next to Tanmen Port, there is a sleek building standing in the southeast of Wang An. A short walk away is the Green Turtle Conservation Center; its facilities are well equipped. Inside the center, there are sections for Green Turtle Introduction, Turtle and Human Ecology Display, Seabird Introduction, and South China Sea Tourism Promotion. From the port, you can view Jiangjun Island and watch the sunrise—a great spot. Both small and large yachts and ship services dock here; be sure to return to the port ten minutes before a yacht or ship departure to prepare for boarding. **Recommended stay time:** 0.5 hours, depending on how long you wish to stay.
