The original Da Xi Public Hall Western-style mansion currently features special exhibitions on woodcraft collection and Da Xi's distinctive furniture, providing space for Da Xi wood artisans to showcase their exquisite woodworking techniques. Originally constructed as a Da Xi Public Hall, during the Japanese colonial period, the "Da Xi Public Hall Foundation" was established with local elites as its board members to collectively fundraise for the hall's construction. Completed in 1923, the Da Xi Public Hall comprises a brick Western-style mansion and a wooden Japanese-style annex. The mansion served as a venue for meetings, gatherings, lectures, banquets, and ceremonies, while the annex functioned as accommodation, rest areas, and art education spaces. It is now the only remaining Japanese-era public hall within Taoyuan that preserves its surrounding park and contextual architecture. Designated as a historical building in 2004, the structure underwent renovation in 2020, focusing on "wood furniture" as its theme, serving as an exhibition space where Da Xi woodcraft artisans integrate their skills with design and contemporary lifestyle needs.
