A small yet exquisite Yimin Temple stands just a stone’s throw from Chaotian Temple. During the Qing dynasty, the Lin Shuang-wen and Dai Chao-chun uprisings broke out in succession, and the Yimin militia of Beigang fought bravely to protect their homes. After the unrest was quelled, local residents enshrined the fallen martyrs together in the Jingyi Pavilion; following several renovations it was renamed Yimin Temple, becoming a historic site that combines tomb and temple for later generations to worship.
