The "Donglin Dongjing" well in the Donglin settlement of Lieyu Township was excavated in the fourth year of Jiatai of the Southern Song Dynasty (1204), and was constructed by Lin Yanzhi of the Song Dynasty. It has a history of more than 800 years, and is the largest ancient well in Kinmen, with a unique construction method. In 2004, during the renovation of the village, steps and granite flooring were laid around the ancient well, and a stainless steel guardrail and transparent glass were added above the well, which was then designated as a county-level cultural relic. Stone slabs measuring 160 cm in length, 40 cm in width, and 11 to 13 cm in thickness were used to build the well wall from the bottom to the top, forming a square well body with each side measuring 130 cm. Each of these stone slabs has a notch carved at the lower left and upper right corners, with the notch measuring 15 cm in length and 20 cm in width. The construction method used a technique alternating between positive and negative convex shapes. On the central part of the well rim facing north, there are three vertical lines of regular script characters, written from right to left: "Jiatai Jizi Chunlin Yanzhi She" (nine characters). On the central part of the well rim facing south, there are two vertical lines of regular script characters, written from right to left: "Dade Yisi Chongxiu" (six characters). Because this part faces south and has been exposed to sunlight for a long time, the granite surface has been greatly eroded, and the characters have become blurred. The characters "De" and "Chong" are relatively clear because they are in the center of the stone, while the other four characters on the edge have suffered more erosion and are not very clear.
