This is the Western-style mansion built by Chen Jinglan, a overseas Chinese merchant from Kinmen living in Singapore, in 1921. It is also the largest Western-style mansion in Kinmen, and a representative example of the "Fanza lou" (Western-style buildings) built by overseas Chinese returning to Kinmen. The pure white exterior of the Chen Jinglan Mansion adds a more Western touch. The exquisite carvings and symmetrical archways resemble Western architectural techniques, which are the most impressive parts of the Chen Jinglan Mansion. After 1949, the Chen Jinglan Mansion was once garrisoned by the National Army's anti-aircraft artillery unit, and was also used as a military hospital, a school for Kinmen Middle School, and a rest center for soldiers. Now it has become a must-visit attraction for tourists coming to Kinmen, serving as a venue showcasing the history of overseas Chinese in Kinmen and Western-style architecture. In front of the Chen Jinglan Mansion in Jin Tang Park stands a statue of the Statue of Liberty, which complements the mansion's style, appearing elegant and noble. Nearby, the Chenggong Beach and tunnels can be incorporated into your visit itinerary.
