Located in the Zhongxiao Wharf, Sanxia District, New Taipei City, the wharf is near the Sanxia Skybridge, and like the Huajiang Wharf, it is located in a section of the river where the flow and water level are easily affected by tides. Therefore, the wharf is designed to automatically adjust the height between the wharf and the embankment according to the river level.
The Zhongxiao Wharf is connected to a bicycle path, which extends northward to the Tamsui-Bali Bicycle Path System and southward to the Second Ring Line of the Greater Taipei Metropolitan Park. Therefore, there are many cyclists coming and going, and there are also bicycle rental stations nearby, but they are only open on weekends. Facing the wharf is a large mural wall, which is made up of many mosaic tiles, depicting the covers of many vinyl records and historical buildings, combining art and scenery. The wharf, like the Huajiang Wharf, also has eight colorful fixed piles, and the wind speed measuring devices are all in the shape of ducks, echoing the Huajiang Duck Protection Area.
Because the river surface of the Zhongxiao Wharf is wide and the sky is vast, and it faces the DaDacheng Wharf in Taipei City, many people sit on the small steps by the wharf to watch the changing clouds, see buildings of different heights and shapes reflected on the river surface, and watch the water buses roaring off and returning. Around the riverbank, there are also several palm trees, making the wharf look like a tropical island. People seem to enjoy this leisurely and quiet moment.
In addition, it is worth noting that during sunset, you can see a few photographers sitting by the riverbank with their single-lens reflex cameras. In recent years, the sunset at the Zhongxiao Wharf has become increasingly popular through word of mouth, so it has become a popular spot for photography enthusiasts. Sometimes they take sunset photos, sometimes sunrise photos, and they also blend the houses of Taipei City between the sky and the river surface, capturing many miraculous and beautiful scenes. So, if you are interested, you can visit the Zhongxiao Wharf and experience its beauty and magic in person!
