台中市大甲區文武路116號
The Dajia Wenchang Temple, located on Wénwǔ Road in Dajia District, boasts well-preserved architectural and cultural heritage. Built in 1887 (the 13th year of the Guangxu Emperor's reign), the Dajia Wenchang Temple, also known as the Temple of the God of Literature or Confucius Temple, enshrines the God of Literature, Confucius, and Han Yu. Its construction marked the beginning of the educational trend in the Dajia area. Initially, it served as a community school, making it the first school established in Dajia. Today, the temple enjoys incense and is packed with examinees and their parents during exam seasons. They bring offerings to pray for a smooth exam. The temple's layout, murals, and carvings reflect traditional craftsmanship and are worth understanding and appreciating. In recent years, thanks to the efforts of various individuals, many cultural activities have been organized. These activities not only carry cultural significance but also foster a sense of community among local residents.
