A 60-year legacy of Jiayi flavor, founded in 1953, has spanned half a century in Chiayi. Carefully selected fresh ingredients are hand-crafted into nutritious delicacies, passing down the confectionery skills the founder’s father learned from the Japanese during the Japanese colonial era. Starting with yokan, the line expanded to manju, snowflake cakes, sweet-potato treats, and the innovative square crisps. Among them, the nostalgic Nan-Hsin snowflake cake uses premium butter as filling and comes in lemon and pineapple flavors. A dusting of powdered sugar on the surface resembles falling snow, giving it its name; soft and airy, it melts in your mouth. In summer it can even be frozen, tasting like an ice-cream cake. It is a beloved Chiayi taste that has accompanied us for 60 years. Recommended souvenir: Nan-Hsin snowflake cake.
