高雄市苓雅區五福一路67號
The Kaohsiung Cultural Center was established on April 16, 1981. It features an outdoor green space of 7.055 hectares and stands as a symbol of cultural development in Kaohsiung. Guangzhuo 1st Street to its side is home to numerous art galleries. The cultural center not only provides a leisure destination for Kaohsiung residents but also enriches the artistic perspectives of urban dwellers. It offers two performance venues, Zhidetang Hall and Zhishanting Hall, seven exhibition halls, libraries, and other artistic and cultural spaces surrounding the Cultural Center. The "Municipal Arts Boulevard," filled with artistic charm, creates a one-of-a-kind space. Artistic benches, metal sculptures, and mosaic floor mosaics on the sidewalks further set benchmarks for "urban aesthetics." After removing its walls, Kaohsiung Cultural Center transformed into a fully open area. Walking on the pedestrian pathways allows one to enjoy the soothing atmosphere brought by dense trees in the park. It also serves as the primary venue for major cultural events in Kaohsiung. After repainting, the main building's gray-white exterior exudes a refined elegance. Along the Municipal Arts Boulevard of Kaohsiung Cultural Center, features such as stone drums, Sunlight Rest Stops, steel sculptures, Creative Bus Stops, and Sentimental Poetry Walkways create a vibrant cultural ambiance. The weekend evening art market held every Saturday and Sunday has become a stage for street artists and cultural and creative works.
