During the Japanese colonial period, the temple was rebuilt in 1935 (Showa 10) after an earthquake. The overall architectural style of the temple still maintains the original Fujian-style temple architecture. The temple faces south, with a complete layout of the three-bay front hall, worship hall, and main hall. However, due to the limited building site, the worship hall extends and connects with the three-bay front hall, which is quite unique. The façade of the three-bay front hall is still made of wood and is a hard-mountain-style building. The large wooden structure is elegant, and the gourd-shaped decorations are beautiful, belonging to the Quanzhou style. The lines are smooth and concise, and the detailed decorations are simple and elegant, fully demonstrating the traditional style of local craftsmanship. To avoid the strong northeastern monsoon along the coast, the overall height of the Zhenwu Temple building is relatively low, creating a unique and stable atmosphere. As a result, the temple has completely preserved its traditional appearance and has become a precious cultural asset on Wugu Old Street.
