The Jindong Cinema is located in Yangzhai, Jinsha Township. In 1960, Mr. Zhang Xiangchuan, the Speaker of the Taipei City Council, donated funds to build the cinema to entertain the military officers on the front lines of Kinmen, providing a place for them to rest. At that time, the cinema was packed with audiences every day. The nearby Yangzhai street district naturally developed into a thriving commercial street, with barbershops, billiard rooms, and bathhouses. Today, after renovation, Yangzhai Old Street still retains some of the original shops, with rusty iron signs and handwritten ink store names on the walls. The Jindong Cinema still maintains the atmosphere of the 1940s, with simple brick and cement architecture, scratched wooden counters and seats, and red and white slogans on the walls, such as "Why fight?" which leave a distinct historical memory.
