The Huang family of the Shuitou settlement highly values education. As the number of students in the settlement increased, the original ancestral temple used as a lecture hall was no longer sufficient. Therefore, the Huang family proposed the construction of a school, with the overseas Chinese from Shuitou contributing funds. The Jinshui Primary School was built in 1932. The school was modeled after the traditional "回" (return) shaped layout of the classical academy, also known as the "Fanzai House." At that time, it was the most modern and largest Western-style primary school in Kinmen. The school's front is beautifully decorated with carvings of angels symbolizing purity and eagles flying high. The interior uses red bricks to build round columns, with the word "focus" as a homophone. Every detail reflects the expectations for the students.
