雲林縣北港鎮華勝路330號
The God of Wealth who rose from a traditional Chinese-medicine shop Beigang Wude Temple enshrines the Heavenly Official Martial God of Wealth—the mythic Zhao Gongming from the Ming-dynasty novel *Investiture of the Gods*. Wielding an iron whip, he commands two divine treasures: the Fixed-Sea Pearl and the Dragon-Binding Cord. Beigang’s faith in the Martial God of Wealth began at Baosheng Hall, a Chinese-medicine shop on the main street; today the space is a hip cultural-creative café. The temple’s principal deity is Marshal Zhao Xuantan—Zhao Gongming—who, according to the Investiture List, leads the Gods of Wealth of the East, West, South, North, and Center, controlling all the gold and silver in the world. He is venerated as the “Five-Direction God of Wealth.” Wude Temple’s huge pale-blue censer is impossible to miss; called the “Heavenly Treasury,” it is filled with gold spirit-money sold by the temple, each sheet stamped “Replenish the Treasury.” The offering tables are piled high with large ingots, bringing worshippers extra luck, and many devotees make special trips here to invite prosperity.
