In the heart of Hua Xin Street’s diverse culinary scene, Yancheng Yunnan Cuisine stands out as the sole establishment offering authentic Yunnan dishes, noodles, and snacks. Owned by overseas Chinese entrepreneur Huang Guiying, who hails from Myanmar’s Laoxu, the shop is renowned for its masterful cooking. The menu features staples such as babashi, rice vermicelli, mung bean noodles, and mung bean soup, as well as the frequently recommended babashi, all prepared personally by the owner. Adding generous slices of meat reveals an extraordinary, nuanced flavor.
Not only do families enjoy gathering here for meals, but students also flock after hiking trips to taste the delectable dishes. The owner’s fried mung bean noodles are exceptionally well-made—light, not greasy—paired with a special sauce she concocts from sesame, peanuts, Sichuan peppercorns, and vinegar. The result is a fragrant, crisp bite with a slight tang that beautifully balances the noodles’ softness, achieving a crispy yet tender culinary experience.
