The Qubing Site is located in the upper reaches of the Zhuoshui River in Ren-ai Township, Nantou County, at an elevation of roughly 700 to 900 meters, covering an area of about 9,000 square meters. Because the indigenous people practiced shifting cultivation, it is judged to be a settlement site left by the Bunun people a thousand years ago after the land became infertile and they moved elsewhere; it is classified as a third-grade historic site. Archaeologists discovered prehistoric stone tools and pottery sherds of archaeological value in the Qubing tribe, as well as the most completely preserved slate site. According to the unearthed stone implements, the “Qubing Site” culture dates back about 1,500–2,000 years and belongs to the Iron Age cultural stage.
