Dengying Academy was founded in the 28th year of the Daoguang Emperor’s reign during the Qing Dynasty (1848 CE). Also known as Wenchang Shrine, it is located in Xinzhuang Village, Caotun Township (formerly Xinzhuang, Beitou Fort), and is dedicated primarily to Wenchang Dijun. In 1985 it was designated a county-level historic site. Nestled amid lush green rice paddies, its solemn atmosphere makes it a key destination for students praying for success in their examinations.
