Every March to April, the pale-violet blossoms of the chinaberry unfold in graceful bloom; the flowering season lasts only about ten days, ushering us into early summer. A springtime micro-trip through Changhua becomes a romantic “purple snowfall” as the chinaberry petals drift on the breeze, and while you admire the flowers a delicate fragrance lingers in the air.
When the blooming season arrives each year, the kapok and chinaberry trees lining both banks of the Dongluo River run through Xihu, Pitou, and Beidou, turning this stretch into Changhua’s hidden floral sanctuary. As you meander slowly by bike through the countryside, the gentle murmur of the Dongluo River accompanies you, letting you savor nature’s quiet beauty. Every segment—from Xihu to Pitou to Beidou—offers its own surprises and experiences, filling the journey with moments of quiet wonder.
