From an aerial view, the Xindian River turns here at Huazhong Riverside Park, forming a large floodplain. The winding terrain resembles a crescent moon and also looks like a boomerang. The wide, flat green grasslands are ideal for holding large events. This is also an excellent place to watch the sunset and birdwatching. The park is rich in ecological diversity, with fish swimming upstream in the river and wild birds frequently jumping between trees. There are various children's play facilities in the park, and the ground is covered with fine sand to ensure safety. The surroundings also provide seats for parents to rest while keeping an eye on their children's activities, thus enhancing parent-child interaction. Since 2009, the city government has established the Huazhong Camping Area here, offering camping tents and car camping sites for public use. It is considered the first large-scale riverside camping area in Taiwan.
When cycling through the riverside park and passing under the Huazhong Bridge, there are several food stalls serving as rest points for cyclists. The stalls offer diverse varieties of food, including traditional Taiwanese snacks and children's toys. Nearby is also a bicycle training area, providing riding practice for different skill levels, allowing children who are not yet skilled or general public to have a safe and comfortable place to practice. There are also explanatory signs around the area, providing further information on basic bicycle knowledge and appropriate riding techniques. It is recommended that you first read the explanatory signs and the basic riding guidelines provided on this page, so that you can enjoy and ride your bicycle safely along the riverside. After taking a break, continuing downstream will lead you through a shady tunnel. In the morning, many people gather here to dance and exercise, full of energy.
You don't have to ride a bicycle to enjoy this place. There are also many sports fields, such as basketball courts, which not only allow friends to play "five-on-five" games, but also provide a beach volleyball court where you can enjoy the sun and sand in the city. Whether it's early in the morning or at night, walking along the embankment path, enjoying the shade under the trees or the gentle breeze under the starry sky, watching the green grass below, each has a different flavor. There are also spacious parking lots at the Huazhong No. 1 and No. 2 entrances, which can help alleviate parking problems in the city. The Huazhong Riverside Park is connected to the Machangting Memorial Park and the Youth Park, making it an excellent choice for couples to date. There are also many delicious foods available near the Youth Park.
