In 1936, in Shanghai, there was a shoemaker named Chen Chuxue, who often visited the homes of high-ranking officials and wealthy families, measuring the feet of ladies and young ladies in the back gardens to custom-make hand-stitched embroidered shoes. With his excellent craftsmanship and passion for shoes, he established a shoe shop on Sima Road in Shanghai, named "Xiaohuayuan Embroidered Shoe Shop."
In 1949, "Xiaohuayuan Embroidered Shoe Shop" came to Taiwan, starting from Ximen Ding, gradually entering the Taiwanese shoe market, allowing the luxurious embroidered shoes to bloom on the feet of Taiwanese women. In 2016, it arrived at Datong Street, where old and new blend together.
Since its establishment, the artisans of "Xiaohuayuan Embroidered Shoe Shop" have always regarded embroidery art and shoemaking craftsmanship as their pride and responsibility. After more than three-quarters of a century, Xiaohuayuan still insists on local production and handmade shoes.
