Rongxing Garden Park is located in the Zhongshan District, in the center of the city. To the east is Longjiang Street, to the west is Jiansheng North Road, to the south is Minquan East Road, and to the north is Wuchang Street. The site is rectangular in shape, covering a total area of 6.5 hectares. It was originally built as a private garden by civilians in 1968, and was completed as a public park in August 1989 after the land was acquired and developed.
The park was renovated in three phases between 1990 and 1995. In addition to retaining the nine-leaf grapevine flower corridor for wedding photos, the natural wetland ecological pool of the Lu Gong Canal, the water performance stage, the tree-shaded square on the southwest side used in the morning and evening, the sunny grass lawn in the northeast area, the maple wood path, the leisurely garden path, the scenic lotus pool, the wooden walkway, the children's recreation area, the basketball court, the red brick dirt track, the uniquely designed management service center, three comfortable public restrooms, and pavilions for people to play chess and chat, it provides high-quality recreational and activity spaces for different times of the day. In recent years, with the increasing attention on ecological conservation, through the cooperation of the neighborhood head, local residents, and experts and scholars, the firefly population in the ecological pool has been restored. The department continues to conduct ecological surveys and plan environmental improvement measures. Currently, there is a stable firefly population, making it a rare place in Taipei City where fireflies can be observed.
