Gold Award Shop 2016 – 2016 Taoyuan Gift Recommendations Signature Dishes: Mei-gan Pork Belly Buns, Dry Wood & Blazing Fire, Three-taste Little Pig, Kumquat-scented Golden-date Pork In 2012, Yuzu Blossom was born as a youthful brand of Hakka cuisine. Through the team’s efforts, it was certified by the Hakka Affairs Council as a model Hakka restaurant and awarded the top-grade hygiene excellence badge by Taoyuan County. In 2013, it was invited to exhibit at the Hakka Expo, promoting Hakka brilliance at home and abroad. Yuzu Blossom Aroma – the Taste of Home The name “Yuzu Blossom” comes from Chairman Lin’s childhood: two pomelo trees stood in front of his home, and every March the air was filled with their blossom fragrance. Smelling it on the way back meant he was almost home. Each dish also carries a story. Take the “Fortune Pot of Bitter-to-Sweet” as an example: innovated from the traditional pickled-mustard soup, pickled vegetables are stuffed inside bitter melon, creating a memorable transition from bitter to sweet. “Dry Wood & Blazing Fire” is equally distinctive. From his mother’s stories, the Chairman learned that dried radish held special meaning for many Hakkas who once hid from U.S. air raids. This dish stir-fries organic dried radish with fresh tender chicken, pairs it with a moderately spicy house-made chili sauce, and tops it with shredded burdock for a striking visual.
