The Ligang river dike was originally built to prevent flooding, but for years it was choked with trash and overgrown weeds. As environmental awareness has grown, the community has turned its attention to beautifying the embankment. The Riverside Park constructed by the Seventh River Management Office was the result. In recent years, thanks to the joint efforts of the township office, the Aligang Cultural Association, and many volunteers, the Ligang riverfront has become one of the township’s best-known attractions. The park preserves the coconut palms once planted by local farmers, and the surrounding area has been laid out as an exercise trail. Every morning and evening residents come here to work out or stroll, making it the perfect spot for leisure and exercise.
