Located on Jinmen’s Shamei Old Street, Xianfeng Canteen insists on using local, seasonal Jinmen ingredients, constantly innovating new dishes. With low-oil, low-salt cooking, guests enjoy both flavor and health.
Owner Huang Yitai originally worked in furniture; after health issues, he switched to running a restaurant to promote healthy eating. For over a decade, the couple has run Xianfeng Canteen together. Thanks to their skills, locals and visitors from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, and China flock here, making it Shamei’s must-eat spot.
To keep ingredients fresh, most meals are reservation-only, omakase-style, customized for each guest—book ahead! A regular menu is still available so walk-ins won’t miss out.
Dongpo Pork
Xianfeng’s signature dish. The boss selects Jinmen wine-lees pork belly, less gamey, meltingly tender, paired with flavorful dried bamboo shoots and a rich house sauce—perfect with rice.
Stone Oyster Rice
Plump Jinmen oysters, sun-dried to intensify sweetness, are springy and odor-free. Served over glossy, savory rice, every bite leaves a lasting, delicious memory.
Stir-fried Pork & Pork Stomach
Shredded king oyster mushrooms, pork, celery, shiitake, and pork stomach are simply seasoned and stir-fried. A Jinmen holiday staple, every mouthful tastes like home.
