連江縣南竿鄉津仁步道
Enjoy exclusive tranquil seclusion at the AuKou Trail. In Nangang, Matsu, two trails wind through the mountains. One connects the villages of Jinsha and Ren'ai—named the Jinren Trail—starting at Tieban, passing through Tiebu, and reaching Jinsha. This location offers an excellent viewpoint of the entire Jinsha settlement and sunset. Walking along the wooden boardwalk, the scenic beauty of Jinsha resembling a mountain city unfolds entirely before you. Especially during sunset, golden sunlight gently casts across the entire Mindong-style roof structures, creating a particularly beautiful sight. The other trail, the Makung Trail, begins at Jinsha Reservoir, passes through Shengtian Park, and proceeds all the way to Matsu Village. Walking along the trail, the boundless sea view soothes the soul; spring brings colorful rhododendrons blooming alongside the path, while late summer and early autumn witness red spider lilies (known as "彼岸花") dotting the way. Each season presents different scenery, making it very suitable for hikes or walks. Initially constructed as military rutted roads for combat vehicle access, the Jinren and Makung trails were originally built during a period of material scarcity. Due to the lack of cement and other construction materials, only two long, narrow paths resembling tracks were laid in the center for tanks and military vehicles. Although most of the rutted roads on the island have since been paved with cement, the trails largely retain the original features of these rutted roads.
