The historical path connecting Dapu and Daping, called Dapu "Fish Path" also known as "Xiadili," is a century-old trail linking the two locations. In the past, during challenging times, it served as a crucial route for Dapu fishermen to transport their catches to Daping for sale. Both communities relied heavily on this trail to meet their basic needs, tirelessly commuting between Daping and Dapu. Although the fishing industry has declined and the path was once abandoned due to population migration, the Dongju Community Development Association and Dongju Elementary School collaborated to restore it. With the combined efforts of local residents, the overgrown trail was cleared, replanted with trees, and revived as an ecological park. This ancient path is rich in biodiversity. During seasonal changes, migratory birds and butterflies bring constant surprises at every turn. Native plants add a vivid array of colors to the path with shifts in the seasons. Every September, the trail's slopes are blanketed in crimson red spider lilies. By October, visitors can savor the sweet, milky scent of the Zhaguo fruit. In November, fields of golden yellow small sunflowers carpet the scenery like a radiant golden blanket. In recent years, the Dongju Community Association has further launched forest canopy restoration projects. In addition to replanting native spider lilies, the region is revitalizing local species such as Matsu lilies and Gualing pear trees. New additions like peach trees, cherry blossoms, and passionfruit trees aim to enrich and diversify the path's ecological landscape even further. The Fish Path originally had two exits. One directly led from Dapu to Daping Village. After a turn at the fish drying yard near "Puzu" (now the area surrounding the power plant), the trail could also extend to Mengao Port. Setting aside time to walk this path allows one to deeply experience the hardships endured by the earlier generation who carried heavy loads along it.
