Yunlin Creek Food Court is located on Chengding Street in Douliu City. Locals call it the “covered night market” or the “snack market,” a zone where vendors cluster. In the early 1970s, stalls first lined Zhonghua Road, Zhongzheng Road and Gongzheng Street; the then township office later relocated them all to Gongzheng Street. A few years on, the swelling number of stands drew ever-larger crowds, leaving Gongzheng Street dirty and traffic-choked. To solve the problem, Douliu City Hall roofed over part of Yunlin Creek and built the present “Yunlin Creek Vendor Center.” It has become Douliu residents’ everyday leisure spot, offering every imaginable snack and quick-fried seafood restaurant—a complete, casual food universe. When you come to Yunlin, be sure to taste it for yourself.
