Shezi Island Head Park

2021-01-13
台北市士林區延平北路九段212號
The Shezitou Island Head Park, as its name suggests, is located at the head of the island where the Keelung River and the Danshui River meet. Although its area is only 1 hectare, it lives up to its name, offering a great view "from the head." This island head was created by the Taipei City Government using the soil excavated from the Keelung River. The area is covered with lush green grass, and stone paths and wooden walkways have been built, allowing people to easily approach the scenic viewing platform.

The viewing platform is always crowded with anglers. It is also an excellent spot to watch the confluence of the Keelung River and the Danshui River and their entry into the sea. Looking around, there is a magnificent 270-degree riverscape. To the right, you can see the popular Guandu Temple and the impressive Guandu Bridge, which stands like a red giant. To the left, in the distance, there is the majestic and elegant Guanyin Mountain. Occasionally, white herons fly across, adding a touch of elegance to the landscape, like a poetic mountain and river painting! On the left side of the platform is a dense mangrove swamp, which complements the Guandu Nature Park wetland across the river. After low tide, you can see the fiddler crabs peeking out from the wetland, composing a symphony of the mangrove ecosystem.
