Located in Ruifang District, the Shuangxi Fishing Port, formerly known as "Fanzi Ao", is situated on the Shuangxi Cape, with a vast hinterland and many rocky coastlines in the surrounding harbor area, making it an excellent spot for rock fishing. It is famous throughout Taiwan for its recreational sea fishing and has the largest number of fishing boats in the country. Whether heading to the fertile fishing grounds of Keelung Islet or the northern three islands (Hufen Island, Pengjia Islet, and Mianhua Islet), experienced boatmen can be found at Shuangxi Fishing Port.
The Shuangxi Fishing Port, a paradise for sea fishing, has a unique geographical location that makes it a sacred place for rock fishing and sea fishing in Taiwan. The main catches include small trevally, silver pomfret, and white ribbonfish. Many popular seafood restaurants have been established along the harbor, attracting gourmands to savor fresh seafood. Chartering a boat to experience the fun and challenges of sea fishing, and appreciating the iconic Northeast Coast landscapes and towns, such as the Elephant Trunk Rock, Bitoujiao Military Rock, and Shuijinjiu, from different angles, have become popular activities in recent years.
The 310-meter-long Haitian Trail observation deck, built along the Shuangxi Fishing Port, offers a 270-degree panoramic view of the ocean, allowing visitors to gaze out at the beautiful scenery of Jiufen Mountain City and take photos with the cute and lively small trevally installation art. The trail has become a secret spot in Shuangxi. At night, the trail transforms into a beautiful light sculpture, with rich colors forming a wave of light that intertwines with the fishing lights and shines together with the golden mountain city, becoming more romantic as the night wears on, making one forget the hustle and bustle of the city.
