新北市烏來區瀑布路34號
Wulai is a renowned mountain township in northern Taiwan, situated within a water-source protection zone where most residents are Atayal. At the confluence of the Nanshi and Tonghou Rivers, towering peaks flank both sides while the streams wind through, creating a magnificent landscape of steep, elegant scenery, famous for its hot springs, narrow-gauge logging train, waterfalls, and Yunxian Amusement Park. Legend has it that the word “Wulai” comes from the Atayal language and means “hot spring,” so the local springs are likewise celebrated; the water is a weakly alkaline carbonate spring, crystal-clear and transparent. The celebrated Wulai Falls drop about 80 meters like a white ribbon against the sky, their roar resounding far and wide. In addition, the sightseeing logging train is one of Wulai’s special features; originally built to haul timber, it now carries tourists up the mountain for sightseeing. The Wulai Falls Visitor Center offers thoughtful, diverse travel services! (Refined meals): set meals and beverages let you enjoy the waterfall while savoring fine food! A convenient take-out service also satisfies travelers’ on-the-go needs. (Waterfall): the outdoor waterfall-viewing platform is the best spot to admire the cascade. Newly installed facilities look beautiful by day and have become the newest vantage point for Wulai’s night views! (Information): travel information, recommended itineraries, and free bicycle use. (DIY Experience): indigenous cultural activities and interactive fun—Atayal weaving workshops and dance lessons!
