The Shiba Laohan Mountain Service Area is located on Provincial Highway 27A, approximately 5 kilometers from Liouguei District, near the Laonong Stream. The Management Office of the Maolin National Scenic Area and the Forestry Bureau collaborated to renovate the Shiba Laohan Mountain Visitor Service Area. The renovation included the construction of a convenience store and public restrooms, as well as a newly built landscape bridge connecting the high platform on the south side. This bridge links the two banks of the river, providing visitors with a different perspective to admire the beauty of the Laonong Stream valley, weathered rock formations, and mountain landscapes. If you're interested in exploring the unique features of Shiba Laohan Mountain, you can apply for a guided tour with the Shiba Laohan Mountain Nature and Humanities Association. Currently, all tours operate on a reservation basis. If you'd like to glimpse the protected area, please submit your application on the Pingtung Forestry Office's website at least five days in advance. It's recommended to allocate about an hour for the visit. With professional guidance and explanations, you'll gain a deeper understanding of the local cultural and historical context.
