Standing on the pavilion offers a comprehensive view of the entire Dongyin and Xiyin. Along the path from the central dike heading westward, there stands a pavilion named "Gratitude Pavilion," which houses a seated statue of Dr. Chiang Kai-shek. Built by the military and civilians of Dongyin to express gratitude for Dr. Chiang Kai-shek's strong support of major constructions on the island, the statue of Dr. Chiang in the pavilion grandly faces south, symbolizing his life of "affection, simplicity, dedication, and sacrifice." Ascending to the Gratitude Pavilion allows one to overlook the entire 360° panoramic vision of Dongyin and Xiyin. The sea stretches boundlessly, shimmering with light in summer and experiencing chilly sea winds in winter, each season offering a different feeling.
