Once one of the nation’s “Top Five Collieries,” Wenshan Coal Mine Station has been reborn through the joint efforts of the Shiding Firefly Library, nearby university community-building teams, local farm-to-market platforms, and Taipei Bus. The old shelter is now brimming with creative touches: seats modeled on miners’ trolley benches, a mock-mine experience, and—look down—painted rails that revive the past. Waiting for a bus is no longer dull; the vintage-flavored stop has become an Instagram magnet. It’s also a stop on Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Route 795, whose “Sansheng Happiness Bus” links Shenkeng, Pingxi, and Shiding, letting travelers feast on stunning ecological scenery all in one go.
