The Taipei International Airport Observation Deck was reopened in November 2010, located on the 3rd floor between the first and second terminal buildings, covering an area of about 545 ping. The observation deck is decorated with plantings using ironwood, which is suitable for the climate in Taiwan, offering the benefit of low heat radiation. In addition, to conform to the image of an international airport, it was specially designed by the world-renowned Spanish designer Alexander Lotersztain, named "Twig" (meaning a young branch). The illuminated outdoor seating provides people with different scenic experiences during the day and night. An outdoor snack area is also planned on the western side of the entrance plaza, offering a place for people to rest and have meals. The observation deck is open free of charge, and can become a new leisure choice for the public.
