Datga Wharf is located on the west bank of the Keelong River, adjacent to the Yuanshan district. Historically known as Yuanzhishan, Yuanshan constitutes the "dragon's head" of the Tahuangtong area's landscape. The Keelong River flows through this region, which was once a brackish lake area where seawater could move in and out. Excavated remnants such as the Yuanshan Site and shell middens near the area provide evidence of habitation by ancient inhabitants. Located closely adjacent to Yuanshan is Jiantan, an area named for King Cheng (Zheng Chenggong) who inserted his sword into the Jiantan pond to obtain water. The Japanese government established the Taiwan Shrine and the shrine's outer garden near the present location of the Yuan Mountain Hotel and the Martyr's Shrine, indicating this site's strategic importance in its geographical context.
Datga Wharf is situated approximately 200 meters west of Da Zhu Bridge along the south bank of the Keelong River. This area functions as the yacht wharf for the "Blue Highway" nautical routes, with two routes operating from here: one from Datga to Yuan Mountain, and another from Datga to the Neihu Science Park with single-point round-trip services.
