Main Deity: Dingguang Buddha
Historical Background: The Dingguang Buddha Temple is a county-designated cultural heritage site. Originally named "Dingguang An," the temple was built during the 26th year of the Qianlong period in the Qing dynasty. In the 28th year of the Daoguang period (AD 1848), following a major earthquake in Changhua, it was renovated by devotees such as Zhang Lianxi and renamed "Dingguang Buddha Temple."
The Dingguang Buddha Temple is not an attention-grabbing religious structure; it neither has an imposing entrance nor the solemn tranquility of a mountain temple. It stands in a corner of the bustling main road in front of Changhua Railway Station (Guangfu Road, No. 140). A world unto itself, passersby often pause to pray with folded hands as they pass before the temple, making it one of the oldest and most flourishing shrines in Changhua City.
