The Zhaixing Mountain Villa, a city-designated historic site in Taichung, is currently undergoing restoration and is closed to visitors. Located in the Tanzi District of Taichung, near the Tanyashen Bikeway, it is also known as the Lin Family Residence in Tanzi. The villa sits on a plot of land spanning over 2,000 pings (approximately 6,600 square meters), and was built by General Lin Kouzhong during the 10th year of the Tongzhi reign (1871) to the 5th year of the Guangxu reign (1879), taking nine years to complete. Having stood for over a century, it is a traditional two-entry, multi-dragon-ridged quadrangle-type building. The villa showcases exquisite craftsmanship in its relief carvings, architectural ceramics, decorative paintings, and structural details. Renowned as the "Number One among Taiwan's Top Ten Mansions," it was designated as a city-designated historic site.
