Lao Dong Beef Noodles was established in 1950. It started with a retired soldier from Shanghai, Mr. Xu, who began selling "curry beef tofu noodles" at the corner of the Shiyun Bakery and the Black Cat Photo Studio on Chengdu Road. Later, together with another retired soldier, Mr. Dong, they ran the "curry beef tofu noodles" stall until Mr. Xu grew old, and he passed the stall to Mr. Dong. Mr. Dong then moved the stall to No. 140, Kunming Street. In 1971 (the 60th year of the Republic of China), Mr. Dong emigrated to the United States, and Mr. Liu took over, expanding the store's staff from 10 to 20 employees, expanding operations, and establishing Lao Dong's golden period in Ximending. After 1989 (the 78th year of the Republic of China), Mr. Liu Zhengxiong, the second generation, took over. Mr. Liu had worked for 15 years at the Huanyu Food Street, learning the brand management of fine cuisine. Using the experience he accumulated over 15 years, he deepened Lao Dong's brand management. Today, Lao Dong has developed into 8 chain stores, spread across major department stores, stores, and hospitals. It continues to develop new products with the spirit of product innovation and diversification. It even went to Beijing to learn from masters, introducing Beijing's pastries into Lao Dong as its signature snacks. In the future, Lao Dong will operate through corporate chain management, serving 10 countries and 8 cities. Lao Dong is no longer just cooking beef noodles; today, Lao Dong represents the spirit of Taiwan.
