Huang Xuanxian was born in the middle period of the Qianlong era. His father held the position of Hanwailang. Later generations of his descendants engaged in business in Nanyang and also achieved remarkable success. The Huang residence is an Fujian-style architecture with five main rooms and two side halls, known as the "Six-Lane Large House." The front and back sections have a dragon-shaped ridge and a hard mountain horseback, which are harmoniously connected. The facade is decorated with delicate wood carvings, and the water wheel blocks are adorned with colorful paintings and cut-out decorations of auspicious flowers, birds, and other motifs, all demonstrating the strength of overseas Chinese and the sentiment of bringing glory to their ancestors.
