This park is located at the intersection of Wenchang Street and Tonghua Street. It was established in 1987, originally named "Wentong Park," with an area of 1,180 square meters. Later, the name "Wentong Park" was changed to "Tonghua Park."
The outer side of Tonghua Park, Wenchang Street, is a famous "furniture street" in Taipei City, where shops selling various kinds of furniture can be seen everywhere. Not far away is the Linjiang Street Night Market, which has Hakka culture, and is a well-known night market in Taipei City. With nearly 200 stalls offering various kinds of delicacies, it attracts many Taipei residents to linger.
At the entrance of Tonghua Park, there are seasonal flowers that change with the seasons. The bougainvillea on the flower racks is filled with red flowers during the blooming season, making it hard not to notice them. Although the overall layout of the park has a lot of hard paving, there are also plants such as Abutilon, banyan trees, and magnolias, which provide good shade with their dense leaves. Although the light under the trees is not very sufficient, the park is enriched with shade-tolerant plants such as Epipremnum aureum, kidney ferns, variegated leaf maple, and red banana plants.
