Fuxing Ecological Park is one of the few parks in Taipei City that is mainly based on aquatic ecology. After about five years of planning and construction, it was completed at the end of 2002 (the 91st year of the Republic of China).
Fuxing Ecological Park is located next to the 177th lane of the 5th section of Minsheng East Road in the Songshan District, between Sanmin Road and Xindong Street, with a total area of approximately 8,413 square meters. The park's most distinctive feature is its ecological waterway, which is nearly 100 meters long, and it is like a miniature of the streams in northern Taiwan. The downstream of the river ecosystem area is the pond ecosystem area, which includes water plants such as Azolla, water lilies, cattails, and Taiwan water celery. At the end of the ecological area, there is a floodplain area with rich aquatic plants such as Suaeda, Polygonum hydropiper, and Clerodendrum cyrtophyllum. Walking within Fuxing Ecological Park, you can see birds, amphibians, and insects; you can hear the croaking of frogs, the calls of birds, and the sound of flowing water; you can smell the natural fragrance of wild ginger flowers and osmanthus. Fuxing Park provides Taipei citizens, who usually live in a bustling environment, with an opportunity to calm down and experience the beauty of nature.
