Shuiwei Scenic Park sits beside the estuary where Jinbaoli Creek joins Yuantan Creek, at the foot of Lion’s Head Mountain Park. Once visited only by locals, the village now features the “Yuantan Creek Scenic Trail,” whose elegant arched bridge cuts across the sky and draws visitors eager to savor the easy-going fishing-village atmosphere. Separated from Huang’gang Fishing Port by Lion’s Head Mountain, Shuiwei Harbor offers a sweeping vista where sea and mountain meet, famed for “Moonlight over Shuiwei,” one of Jinshan’s Eight Scenic Wonders. On every full-moon night the harbor glows with reflected light, but at Mid-Autumn the moon rises beyond Yehliu Cape, gilding Shuiwei Bay with a golden beam that mingles with the twinkling lanterns of fishing boats, leaving onlookers rapt and wordless in the beauty.
