澎湖縣馬公市國宅段288-1
The Shuigang Bicycle Rest Station, completed in 2023, is a must-visit checkpoint for cyclists. We invited contemporary Taiwanese artist Hong Yi to represent Penghu's 1 city and 5 towns through the number "15," combining vibrant colors to depict diverse local elements and rich cultural ambiance. A golden yellow sea eel with streamlined curves forms the English letter "L," complemented by a bicycle wheel containing characters for "Pei" (North) and "Hu" (Lake) that shape "OVE," along with a "Lake" resembling the word "Tide." In addition to the "LOVE" bicycle signage, the charming "Love Swan" features a long neck forming a heart shape, accurately conveying the swan's symbolic meaning. The artwork's combination of imagery and text seamlessly integrates Penghu's local elements and auspicious symbolism, creating an expressive piece filled with celebration. Moreover, the rest area includes bike repair posts equipped with essential tools for on-the-go maintenance, ensuring both cyclists and their bikes can rest comfortably. The Penghu Chrysanthemum Island Route is the only island-type trail among the 16 diverse cycling routes, with Shuigang Bicycle Rest Station situated in Penghu's Shuigang District as the first station in the southern Penghu segment. Beyond offering cyclists a resting space, it features Hong Yi's iconic bicycle land art. The flooring also incorporates local artists' vivid murals printed with marine life, combining aesthetics and artistry to attract travelers for photos and enrich the Penghu south region's identity. It bridges landscape art with the environment, inviting explorers to visit Penghu's top attractions such as the wind-carved rock formations of Fengcun, Shanshui Beach, and the kayaking experiences of Jing'an, known as the world's most beautiful bay.
