台北市北投區中央北路4段18巷50號
Xing Tian Gong Beidou Branch, commonly known as "Zhongyi Temple," is dedicated to Guan Sheng Di Jun. Located at No. 50, Lane 18, Section 4, Zhongyuan Road, Beitou District, Taipei City, Taiwan, it is a branch of the Xing Tian Gong temple on Minquan East Road in Taipei. However, its history of temple construction is even older than that of the main temple in Taipei. The names of the former Taiwan Railway "Zhongyi Station" and the current MRT "Zhongyi Station" were both derived from their proximity to the "Zhongyi Temple." "Guandi Temple Xing Tian Gong" is the former well-known "Jiu Tai Street Enzhugong Temple," originally located near the current Xinxing Junior High School in the Zhongshan District of Taipei. The Xing Tian Gong Guandi Temple was once very prosperous. Later, because the temple site was designated as school land, the temple had to actively search for a new site and prepare for relocation. Eventually, in 1956 (the 45th year of the Republic of China), the temple found a favorable location on Gao Laobie (now Zhongyi Mountain) in Beitou. The construction was funded by Xuan Kong Master, one of the three founders of Xing Tian Gong, and was completed and dedicated on May 31, 1965 (the 54th year of the Republic of China), displaying a grand three-hall temple layout. The Xing Tian Gong Beidou Branch covers an area of about 8 hectares. The temple buildings are majestic. In addition to a library, the area is rich in natural vegetation, with well-planned facilities such as walking paths, garden landscapes, rest pavilions, parking lots, and public restrooms. It is also the starting point of the Zhongyi Mountain Nature Trail planned by the Taipei City Government. As you walk up the stairs from the bottom of the mountain, the first thing that comes into view is a large patch of lush green grass, garden landscapes, and a coconut tree avenue. Then, as you climb the stairs to the upper level, passing through the Gate of the Sun and the Gate of the Moon, you will arrive at the spacious front hall of the Beitou Branch. The temple courtyard is very spacious, with red walls and gray stone floors, creating a peaceful atmosphere under the blue sky. Passing through the mountain gate, you can see the elegant Jade Emperor Hall and the bell and drum towers, which showcase the beautiful architectural style. After visiting the Jade Emperor Hall, the rear hall, and the Three Yuan Hall, heading toward the back mountain area, you can further experience the quiet beauty of nature. Walking along the shady paths surrounded by lush trees, gazing at the dense bamboo groves, or observing the unique rocks that have withstood the test of time, you will feel the serene and elegant scenery. Walking up the 800 steps on the right side, you can also enjoy a vast and comfortable view of the Guandu Plain and the Danshui River, making it an ideal spot for tourism, spring outings, and spiritual reflection along the Beitou-Danshui line.
