The Mao Gong Stone Seaside Recreation Area is located on the northern part of Xiaojinmen Island. It is named after the unique red stones called "Mao Gong Stone," and it is one of the few places in Taiwan where Mao Gong Stone can be found. When you first arrive at the Mao Gong Stone Beach, the first thing you see is the circular arrangement of anti-invasion pile tracks. Then, when you look to the right side of the coast, you will see groups of Mao Gong Stones scattered in an irregular pattern. Each is a large red stone, and their shapes vary due to the erosion by the sea. In the Hokkien language, "Mao Gong" is used to describe an ugly man with a face full of pits and bumps. Therefore, these stones with uneven surfaces are also named "Mao Gong Stones."
